Endoscopic Middle Face Surgery: Cheek Lifting

Middle face means cheeks and cheekbones. If you observe little babies you can see that their cheeks are full and tight. These full and tight cheeks mean youthfulness. However, cheeks droop down by the effect of gravity and senescence. That is this pendency can be obvious up to indication of the cheekbones. Besides these tissues that are drooped forms a repletion downwards, at the level of mouth. In a young and dynamic face it needs to be a protrusion in the cheekbones and a sag around the mouth. You can assume it like a pear on its stalk. With senescence (sometimes in young people as genetic) this pear is like conversely standing. Namely the lower part got plump by the upper tissues to accumulate down.

WHAT IS DONE IN THE SURGERY
The operation has so much technical details. If I explain it simply, what is done is to upside down the pear. By lifting up the tissues that drooped down the repletion on cheekbones maintained again. This also decreases the largeness in the lower part and face form changes.
No seams left because the cuts are done only inside the mouth, at the part where the upper lip ends and in the hairy skin. By cameras and special tools the muscles, fat packages and membranes are prepared one by one and moved up where they belonged to at the 20s. Everything is done deep down and can be seen just by cameras.

IS THIS SURGERY APPROPRIATE FOR ME?
Look at yourself in the mirror by a 45 degrees angle. Normally it is ideal that your cheekbones are up at the level of mouth and your cheeks are in as much as they can. If those ratios altered in converse, namely your cheeks are outgrowth and your cheekbones are flat, this surgery might be suitable for you.
This is not a surgery which definitely performed in the old ages. The patients who have this surgery are mostly at the age of 20s and they have natural born pendency in the cheeks.

WHAT IS EXPECTED AFTER THE SURGERY
After this surgery the first change which you will notice in your face will be tumescence. Because this is not an open surgery there is no suture on the surface but it causes tumescence because it is a surgery which is performed in the deep parts. This is not n aching surgery. Your head will be upright while sleeping for the first days and you will apply ice often.
To be back at work is generally possible at the end of the 3rd week.
The cheekbones appear more tumid for the first weeks. Usually in the 2nd or 3rd week you see that the edema goes off and you will take it at ease.

THE REPORT OF THE SURGERY

Anesthesia: General.
Where should be the surgery performed: In a hospital operating room which has infrastructure for this surgery.
The duration of the surgery: 1,5-4 hours.
The duration of the hospital stay: Can be discharged at the same day.
The ache and pain after the surgery: There may be a little ache for a few days. Usually painkillers taken by mouth are adequate.
Tumescence and lividness: Between 3-6 days. Medium level
The dressing for the wound: Is taken totally at 2 days. If there are drains, they are taken at the following day.
The sutures: There is no suture which should be taken out in the mouth. They melt by themselves. There are metal sutures in the hairy skin and they are taken at 7th day (it is not an aching process).
When can be back at work: After seven days
Sports: After 2 weeks long joggings, after 3 weeks severe sports, but you need to wait 6 weeks for the competitive and body-to-body sports like basketball.
The last shape: generally for two weeks the cheekbones look bigger than they are because of the surgical repletion. They are mostly removed at the first weeks. But for everything to be normal is after 3 months.
